I was cleaning out my attic and I found this picture of me taken while on a tower at Phu Cat RVN called Hawaii. Don't know why it was named that. I was 20 years old. Man this brings back some memories.

Mama and my sister in town for the weekend.
Well Mama and my sister are in town today. Mama has an appointment at downtown at the medical center to get her eyes checked. She has macular degeneration, and has been getting shots in her eyes every three months for the past year. She had the bad kind, I think it is called the wet macular or dry, not sure, but she had the bad one which will blind you. Well the injections have cleared it up, and she is doing much better, oh she is 85 years old. Stil lives alone and drives. Oh course I won't ride with her, she scares the hell out of me. I have some pics I took of her and her great great grandson, my grandson, but I have to clear up the red eye before I post them. These pics are my sister brought of a couple of fish she cought in the lake (Vernon) which in in her back yard. Damn I wish I had a house on the lake like they do.

A Couple of Pictures From My Past
These are a couple of pictures taken while I was still in the Air Force. I was stationed at Kelly AFB, in San Antonio and it was a stop over for the Space Shuttle while being ferried back to it's home base. This one is the Columbia, I am the good looking one on the right not the skinny Major, he was my commanding officer. The other one was also at Kelly. Not one of my favorite moments shaking hands with this guy, but what the hell he was the boss at the time. Oh, I don't know who took this picture, but I have a pretty good idea. I was called to my commanders office the next day and given this 8x10 photo. I also got my ass chewed out because I was wearing sun glasses, and the last thing my detail was told was no sun glasses unless they were perscription. I never did understand that.

Nine in one night. This is not normal for Houston. Usually one or at times two. I hope it is not a sign of things to come.

Just Another Day on The Ranch

Bloggers
You know, I was sitting here tonight after a shit day at work, and wanted to post a new blog. Well I got to tell you this is not as easy as some may think. I as those who have been on my blog probably know, am new to this. I have been reading blogs for years. I had my favorites like This one . And of course who will ever forget This Man . Now I don't ever even aspire to be that good. I have made a good friend in the blog world, who shares a background with me, as we are both retired USAF, and both kind of have the same thoughts on a lot of things. He has given me a lot of help and inspired me to keep it up. We speak often via landline, and email, and I do ask a lot of questions. But I have realised that bloggers no matter where or who they are, are willing to help. I have been offered help by many of you out there, and I appreciate it. Of course, when I read bloggers like This guy I get a entirely different slant on things. I love his blog. Glad Iam not a slow running animal. Any how my hat is off to all of you and keep on doing what you do, and I will try and catch up.

Damn, I have been working harder than a one legged man in an ass kicking contest today. Haven't had time to even read the news to see what is screwed up in the world. I know that here in Houston, the big hoopla today is voting. It is all over our local news, and I am sure the rest of the country as well. Mohamad Obama and half way Clinton been here banging each other for the past couple of days. McCain was here as well. Funny, you never see him in the news, it's allways the other two. And Huckabe notihing about him at all. We will have extended news coverage tonight on our local stations due to the polling coverage. I hope it dosent interfer with local programing. We Were Soldiers Once And Young
I don't know how many of you were in Vietnam, but there was a Movie made about one certain battle there in the LaDrang Valley involving the 7th Cav. the movie was as the title says We Were Sldiers Once and Young. Some of the shots in this clip may remind some of you how it was when we came home especially if you had to walk through the LA Internation Airport like I did. That's all I'll say about that, but if you did, you know what I mean. Thank God that our new bried of warrior will not have to deal with what we did. We were infact Soldier,s Airman, Marines and Coast Guard once and young, but now we are old. But we remember and will support our Military, no matter what.
If you haven't seen this movie you must get it. It will make you proud, and even though it is a movie, it is as close to what happend as you can get. I know one of the men who was there, and we have spoken about it many times. And what you see is pretty much what it was. Outstanding movie.
Installed New Equipment on My System Today
Well it's raining, and that means no working outside, so I took the opportunity to put in some new speakers, new video card and tidy up my work area, which is my sons room. Drilled a few holes to rerun all of the wires tied them up so it looks neat. The speakers are pretty good, Milti-Media Amplified, which I had at work, and didn't use. So now I am enjoying an adult beverage and enjoying some good music and blogging. Now what more can a man ask out of life.
